Pardon me as I get back into the groove of a structured day away from the house. I volunteered to help a friend’s start up through some software testing for the next little while. Yesterday was my first day at “work.” There’s a lot of ramping up and re-tooling on my part to get back into the groove of things and where the state of the technology is. I spent most of yesterday trying to remember how to use MS Windows and Outlook… (I’ve been a Mac/Linux gal with web based apps for the past 2.5 years.)
I have the fortune of having some wonderful friends who make sure that I’m never alone during the holidays. I will be joining one such extended family for dinner this afternoon. Tomorrow, I’ll be having yet another turkey meal — the club has a tradition of cruising out to Angel Island for Thanksgiving weekend and frying a turkey on the beach. I made 4 chocolate espresso pecan pies last night. 1 for today, 2 for tomorrow, and 1 to keep and share with Penny‘s family.
